Race in the Classroom
Mission Statement

This interactive site presents diverse scholarship regarding race and pedagogy. The site is an academic resource intended to provide teachers, students, researchers and the interested public with on-site research summaries and citations as well as bibliographies of research and teaching materials. This project has grown out of continuing discussions regarding anti-racist teaching strategies, discussions that have evolved in a wide range of disciplines and educational settings. The site attempts to convey the range of these engagements by highlighting representative examples.

Because of the physical location of this resource, it contains a substantial amount of information regarding educational developments in California; however, the site also engages national and international venues. The site divides the race and pedagogy topic into specific categories. New links and documents are being added continually. The site is designed to lend many different voices to race and pedagogy dialogues; visitors are encouraged to add their comments by making use of the dialogue boxes after each research summary.
